Review:
“Queen of Hearts” is a thought-provoking and intense drama that delves into the depths of human desires and the consequences of our actions. Trine Dyrholm delivers a powerful performance as Anne, who is both vulnerable and manipulative, while Gustav Lindh portrays Gustav with a natural and compelling performance. May el-Toukhy‘s direction is bold and unflinching, refusing to shy away from the taboo nature of the story. The film is a challenging and uncomfortable watch, but it’s also a deeply affecting one that will leave a lasting impression on viewers.

“Queen of Hearts” has won numerous awards, including the Audience Award and the Critics’ Award at the Göteborg Film Festival, the Best Actress Award for Trine Dyrholm at the Zurich Film Festival, and the Best Film Award at the Chicago International Film Festival.
