Dumb and Dumber is a 1994 American comedy film directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. The film follows the misadventures of two best friends, Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels), who are both extremely dim-witted. Dumb and Dumber’s plot revolves around the two friends traveling from Rhode Island to Colorado to return a briefcase to its rightful owner, not realizing that it contains a large sum of money. Along the way, they encounter a series of hilarious and absurd situations, including picking up a hitchhiking woman who turns out to be a criminal, accidentally killing a rare owl, and getting involved in a high-speed chase with the FBI. Dumb and Dumber was a commercial success and is now considered a cult classic of the comedy genre. Jim Carrey’s manic performance as Lloyd and Jeff Daniels’ deadpan humor as Harry received widespread praise from critics and audiences alike. The film’s irreverent humor and absurd gags, combined with its heartwarming message of friendship, have made it a beloved film for many.
