Synopsis:
The film is based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali, a powerful woman who was the matriarch of Kamathipura, a red-light district in Mumbai, India. Born into a wealthy family in Kathiawad, Gujarat, Gangubai was sold into prostitution at a young age and eventually became a notorious figure in the sex trade. However, she also helped many women in the district and fought against the oppression of women in the industry.
