“Unfaithful” is a 2002 American drama film directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Richard Gere, Diane Lane, and Olivier Martinez. The film is based on the 1969 French film “La Femme Infidèle” by Claude Chabrol.
Synopsis:
The film follows Connie Sumner (Diane Lane), a married woman who lives in New York City with her husband, Edward (Richard Gere), and their son. While running errands one day, Connie meets a young Frenchman named Paul (Olivier Martinez). They begin an affair, which becomes increasingly intense and dangerous as Connie struggles to keep her infidelity a secret from her husband. As the affair deepens, Connie’s guilt and paranoia lead to a devastating conclusion.
