“Aliens” is a 1986 science-fiction action film directed by James Cameron and starring Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Lance Henriksen, and Bill Paxton. The movie is the sequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 film “Alien” and follows Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) as she returns to the planet where she first encountered the alien creature, this time accompanied by a team of Marines, to investigate a loss of communication from a colony.
The film was a critical and commercial success, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest action and science-fiction films of all time. It won two Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound Editing, and was nominated for five others, including Best Actress for Sigourney Weaver. The movie is praised for its intense and thrilling action sequences, imaginative world-building, and Weaver's iconic portrayal of Ripley as a strong and capable hero. It spawned several sequels, as well as numerous spin-offs and adaptations in other media.
