“Apocalypto” is a historical adventure film released in 2006, directed and produced by . The movie is set in the late 15th century and tells the story of a young hunter named Jaguar Paw, who is captured by the Mayan civilization and must fight for his survival.

Synopsis:

Jaguar Paw lives with his wife and child in a remote village in the Mayan forest. One day, while hunting, they encounter a group of warriors from a neighboring tribe who are fleeing the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. The warriors kill some of the villagers and capture Jaguar Paw and his companions. They are taken to a Mayan city where they are to be sacrificed to the gods. Jaguar Paw manages to escape and begins a dangerous journey back to his village, pursued by the Mayan warriors.
