Plot
Irfan Ahmed, a gold medalist from IIT Madras, resides in Triplicane, Chennai, with his mother Praveena Begum, who is a Sub-Inspector of Police, and his friends. He is in a romantic relationship with Archana Krishnamoorthy, who is pursuing her Ph.D. in Delhi, and he also becomes friends with a junior lawyer named Prathana Raman. Despite attending multiple job interviews, Irfan is unsuccessful in securing a job and works part-time at a perfume factory. Tired of facing questions about his religious beliefs during interviews, Irfan decides to join a full-time perfume business run by Perumal and his son, Karthikeyan. He travels to various locations in the country to purchase chemicals for the business. On his return journey from Hyderabad, Irfan misplaces his cellphone.
