Led by a man known only as “The Professor” (Álvaro Morte), the group of eight robbers takes hostages inside the Mint and print billions of euros in cash. They aim to stay inside the Mint for 11 days, while the police negotiates with them and tries to find a way to stop them.
The series explores the personal lives and backstories of each of the robbers, as well as the police officers tasked with resolving the situation. Alongside the heist, there are numerous subplots and twists, including unexpected relationships, betrayals, and surprises.
Review:
La casa de papel is an exhilarating, high-stakes thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The series has a unique visual style, with each episode titled after a different city, and the characters wearing Salvador Dali masks throughout the heist.
The acting is excellent, with standout performances from Úrsula Corberó as Tokyo, one of the robbers, and Álvaro Morte as The Professor. The series also has a compelling soundtrack that adds to the tension and atmosphere of each episode.
One of the strengths of the series is the way it explores the motivations and emotions of both the robbers and the police officers. It creates complex characters with relatable backstories and humanizes them, making it difficult to know who to root for.
Overall, La casa de papel is a must-watch for fans of crime dramas and thrillers. It’s an addictive series with intricate plotting and fantastic performances that will keep you hooked until the end.
