“Lace” is a television miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Shirley Conran. It was first broadcast in 1984 and became an international success, being shown in over 40 countries.
The series follows the story of four women: Pagan Trelawney, Maxine Pascal, Judy Hale, and Kate Munro. The women are all linked by a mysterious woman named Lili, who was their mother's friend and may have been their father's lover. Lili has recently died, and in her will, she leaves a clue to the identity of the women's biological father. The four women then embark on a quest to discover the truth about their father and their own identities.
The miniseries deals with themes of family, love, and betrayal, as the women uncover dark secrets from their pasts. It features a star-studded cast, including Bess Armstrong, Brooke Adams, Phoebe Cates, Arielle Dombasle, Anthony Higgins, and Angela Lansbury.
“Lace” was highly successful, and a sequel, “Lace II,” was released in 1985.
